This 23 karat edible gold leaf is made from genuine gold that is beaten to extremely thin sheets. Edible gold leaf are commonly used to add a touch of glamour and elegance to desserts, food and drinks.
You might expect it to taste like metal or have an aftertaste but in fact it does not taste like anything because it is so thin that it disintegrates once it's eaten.
Edible gold leaf transfers are recommended for applications on flat surface that require the entire gold leaf to adhere to the food item. Edible gold leaf are extremely delicate so extreme care must be taken when taking them out of packaging. To use the gold leaf it must be removed from the booklet gently by taking hold of the paper end with your fingers and then gently applying it to your surface such as chocolate gold side down, very lightly rub with your fingers or cotton wool on the paper backing, then remove the paper backing carefully.
