This 23 karat edible gold leaf is made from genuine gold that is beaten to extremely thin sheets. Edible gold leaf are commonly used to add a touch of glamour and elegance to desserts, food and drinks. Each edible gold leaf is placed between thin sheets of rouged tissue paper.
When consumed the edible gold leaf disintegrates in the mouth without flavour and passes through the digestive tract without being absorbed.
Edible gold leaf are extremely delicate so extreme care must be taken when taking them out of packaging. It is recommended to use a Gilder's Knife/Gilder's Tip/Tweezers for handling this product. Unlike edible gold leaf transfers, loose leafs are not pressed onto the tissue and can be moved using tweezers.
Comes in a booklet of 25 pieces with each edible gold leaf measuring 80 x 80mm in size.
