How many dowels do I need per tier?

Use at least 4 large dowels per tier, evenly spaced inside the outline of the tier above. For tiers wider than 25cm or heavier multi-tier builds, 5 to 6 dowels provide added confidence during transport. Always position your dowels so none sits outside the footprint of the tier above.

What size dowel should I use for my cake?
