FAQs

How much LorAnn dram should I use?
Start with 1/8 tsp per 250g chocolate or per 1kg hard candy batch. LorAnn super-strength is 3-4 times stronger than water-based extracts. For buttercream, start with 2-3 drops per 250g, taste, then build. Too much can taste bitter or soapy.

What is the difference between LorAnn oil and emulsion?
LorAnn Oils (super-strength) are highly concentrated, oil-soluble flavourings designed for high-heat candy making and chocolate. They are solvent/propylene glycol based and will not seize chocolate. Emulsions are water-based, less heat-stable and better for cakes, batters and buttercream where water is already present. Use oils for candy and chocolate, emulsions for baking.
